About the ArtistCalligraphy was my life long skill, but I didn't venture into painting until 12 years ago. I was fortunate to find very helpful art groups to hone the skills needed. I'm very much at the beginning of my art journey and love pursuing various mediums, particularly capturing the beauty and silence of the landscape.
Inspired by the wilderness of Tasmania, I travelled there every year for five years, attending workshops by renowned artist Tony Smibert, who has influenced my work. I enjoy being with other artists and I am helped by their creativity. I work in watercolor, acrylic and oils and I have experimented with resin. I enjoy many subjects - particularly local landscapes. I describe myself as a colourist. I love working in the bush, where I often spend time painting or drawing. I am developing some works using the palette knife which is very challenging, but fun. |
