They say that you are 'never too old to learn new skills' as a late-blooming, self-taught artist exploring the fascinating world of media and style. I can attest to this since taking a bold leap into the art world in 2015.
Being creative is a blessing, and having pencil and ink drawing in my earlier life was helpful, thank the heavens though for the social media platforms such as Facebook and Youtube, Patreon, and other online art tutorial forums! The journey to date has been a rewarding experience beyond expectations, there is something very primal about taking a blank canvas and letting your imagination loose with colour and form through the preferred media of acrylic, oil, pastel, and watercolours. My style is not fixed and may never be, this is the exciting part of the journey and to date I take pleasure painting landscapes, seascapes, flora and fauna for private sale or commissions. Having begun my professional art journey with animal portrait commissions, these I still enjoy doing. Looking forward to exhibiting more in 2023 and I am sincerely thankful to be a part of the wonderful art community in the Peel region, there are some amazingly talented artists in this region. |
