Introducing the artists:
Roy Harris joined MPAA seven years ago and has continued to develop as an urban sketcher and plein air artist. Using brush pens, marker pens and watercolours Roy seeks to capture, in a fun and colourful way, the many inspiring vistas to be found in the Peel region. Peter Munday joined MPAA eight months ago and his inspiration comes from his love for the Australian bush and the beauty of nature itself. He attempts to portray this beauty through his art using acrylic paints. Finding an escape from his disability through the therapeutic nature of painting he paints en plein air as much as possible, with most of his artwork being finished in his studio. For Patricia Nath, the concept of painting en plein air has given her the opportunity to go outdoors and experience the surroundings in its vastness and variety. Capturing transient life at that moment. Her artworks are Western Australian settings, predominantly Mandurah and its surroundings. Her work includes plein air paintings and studio works. Denise Williams is predominantly a watercolour artist who enjoys painting landscapes en plein air. Inspired by places and experiences, much of her interest lies in the details of the landscape, flowers and birds, including a particular interest in Australian natives. Plein air painting and travel encompass the freedom, the sense of belonging to and appreciating nature in all its forms. This enables her to capture a moment in time and the essence of her surroundings |
