Sharon is a fine art photographer passionate about environmental justice, inspired by the natural environment and the people who work to protect it.
She explores concepts around environmental transformation and aims to create thought-provoking pieces that are empowering for the viewer. Her main aim with her work is to convey the beauty of the natural environment, along with inspiring stories of conservation, hoping to inspire others to take action and instil a greater sense of responsibility for natural areas. Sharon explores the natural areas; beaches, forests and wetlands, capturing landscapes and close-ups of flora and wildlife using digital cameras and drones. These images provide the foundation for more complex photographic works. Many of her final pieces are the result of a layered process, images captured over several photographic shoots over several weeks. Sharon then works in her studio to entwine the photographs, often projecting them onto people or other objects and photographing the result. |
