About the ArtistCorrine's artwork explores regions of Western Australian landscape hemmed by coastlines and inland waterways, a true-life record of my experiences and love for scenery. She is fascinated and influenced by the rugged beauty of nature, its complimentary colour harmonies, and light play, creating highlights and shadows.
Working both outdoors En Plein Air, from her home studio overlooking Peel Harvey Estuary, and also practises portraiture. When creating oil paintings, Corrine considers various paint applications. Bold gestural brushstrokes, sculptural palette knife texture or transparent colour layers, creating impressions of depth and space. Recently using gold-leaf to represent light of sunrise, sunset, and moon. |

Corrine strives to capture what she sees, imagines, and senses, leading viewers to feel they have experienced similar scenes themselves, becoming more aware of their surroundings.
Pareidolia is a visual sensation rarely heard of, but that everyone has experienced, where someone sees faces, or images of things that don't actually exist, e.g. faces in clouds.
Currently the artist is exploring Pareidolia in some artworks, inspired from humanoid features, creatures or spirits she sees within decaying estuary tree skeletons.
Corrine is a member of the West Australian Society of Arts Inc., Mandurah Plein Air Artists Inc., and of Portrait Group Mandurah.
