Dried clay encrusts itself on the studio floor, wet clay slumps in buckets and recycled clay spread on plaster bats, waits in anticipation for wedging, shaping and throwing. It’s a busy space filled with experimentation and laughter.

Dusty Souls Pottery is a collective of emerging creatives exploring the fields of functional and decorative ceramics. Members include Sue Brown, Jenny Cooper, Wendy Fisher, Carolyn Marks and Kelly Withnell.

Sue Brown brings her avid love of native bird life and shady native ferns to her practice using elements of nature to make impressions and motifs into her house and garden products.

Jenny Cooper takes inspiration from her deep interests in landscape architecture and floristry creating artworks with an appreciation of structural form and delicate textures.

Wendy Fischer combines wheel work with creative whimsy where her ‘winky, wonky’ vessels emerge organically with flourishing edges that ooze with individual personality.

Carolyn Marks brings a sense of mindfulness to her practical and functional, wheel-thrown stoneware inclusive of dinnerware, mugs and vessels.

Kelly Withnell is the newest collective member, starting from scratch and making her way with small and quirky hand-built forms.

Dusty Souls Pottery celebrate the unexpected and the imperfect in both pottery and life.
