Jill has always been inspired by the world she travels through the aging, weathered trees, fallen or standing in Australia's vast landscapes, animals and birds in fields and bushlands, heritage cottages in need of recording before they disappear, rock formations (large and largest) and occasionally people. Jill uses many different mediums, including acrylic paint on board and canvas, watercolour and printmaking with linocuts or dry point and collagraphs. Jill also creates small characters in textiles that are inspired by the folk she observes in the street or at shopping centres, however they are more elfin than human. Some have their own stories, which Jill is recording in their own hand made books, for her own pleasure. |
