Lucy recently completed her residency at CASM, which allowed her space to challenge and expand her arts practice. She now paints more expressively, using vibrant bold colours. Through her gestural and dripping techniques, Lucy explores themes of grief, loss and hope, drawing parallels to the cyclical nature of life and the resilience of Australian flora.
Influenced by the immersive approach of John Wolseley and the abstract experimentation of Jackson Pollock, Lucy aims to create works that evoke both emotional depth and visual impact. Lucy continues to paint large coastal landscapes, celebrating our coastline and complexity of the ocean. The artist will be painting some large scale paintings during the Open Studios event, so don’t miss out seeing an artwork in progress. |
