Born in Perth in 1943, Norm displayed a talent for drawing and painting in watercolours from a young age, consistently receiving high marks for his artwork in school. In 1967, he created his first oil painting and successfully sold a few pieces.

Focusing on landscapes, he painted with great enthusiasm. In 1981, after completing over 100 paintings, Norm held his first solo exhibition, which was a tremendous success. Mainly self-taught, he has collaborated with several prominent artists whose guidance and critical feedback have significantly contributed to his artistic development. He has also taught oil painting and has received numerous awards and commendations for his work.

In addition to painting, Norm is a successful photographer, using many of his photographs as inspiration for his paintings. While he primarily works in acrylics, he is also proficient in oils, oil pastels, charcoal, ink, and watercolours.

As a child, his mother gifted him a set of watercolour paints, and he would spend hours creating art. Now, after painting professionally since 1960, he is eager to relax, showcase his work, and connect with the community. Norm would like to join Peel Open Studios, as he has a wealth of art to sell and hopes to present his best works.
