About the Artist

Contact Information

Leah's art studio and gardens are a feature of their own. Since moving to Serpentine 7 years ago she has been purposefully planting and preparing the shed studio and yards to accommodate the materials she primarily uses or draws inspiration from.

Vines, foliage and flowers are grown for floral arrangements, wreath making, pressing or preserving, or photographing to draw, paint, sculpt or carve. Flowers and birds feature abundantly in her work as do colour, patterns and weathered materials inspire much of it.

She is a salvager of an eclectic mix of vintage, weathered, worn and rusty pieces that complete the heritage brick shed which is her studio. It is the heritage nature of weathered, worn tones that sets the theme of her work, often working with a restricted palette of neutrals to reflect the space.

Leah has a Bachelor of Arts, a background in upholstery and soft furnishings, a love of textiles and experience in tiling, cementing and plastering.  There is an inspiring combination of passions, all evident in this remarkable space.

She looks forward to welcoming art lovers, crafters and gardeners to her studio, aptly called The ReStore Space.
