Val Brooks Is an award winning artist working in pastels and oils to respond to the Western Australian landscape. Much of her work reflects the diverse landscape of our state. She is inspired by the contrasting light and shadows and intense colours of the coastal regions to create impressionistic art pieces.
A number of Val's studio works in pastel focus on the vast tidal range of the Kimberley coast, from calm mangrove waters to rippled low tide reflections. Other works in both oils and pastels are inspired by observations,p Plein air studies and photo references of local scenes and from travels around the state. |
